System Operators

System operators ( also known as "IRCops" , "Sysops" etc ) , people especially authorized to check the status of the whole IRC network . Those people login to the server and they authenticate themselves using the OPER command , or others are using the PASS or AUTH commands .

IRCops are generally available for help . You may query them and ask for something you don't know , or complain about something , or any other that the IRC network's policy provides .

Depending on the server configuration , IRC operators have the following power :

• They can terminate a link to a client ( i.e. KILL ) , if they find out that the user causes trouble
• They can ban a user from the whole network
• They can join any channel and be automatically hosts / owners .

Some IRC servers also give additional power to IRC operators . I will not give you the commands you 'd need as an operator ; There is no chance for you to be authorized to be an IRCop and you don't know the relative commands .
